Not too sure about this…

I’m in the process of making my first attempt at weaving on the weaving sticks, and even with the instructions right in front of me, and following them exactly, I don’t think it looks the way it’s supposed to. The instructions say the weaving will tighten up as I go along, but I’m not seeing any evidence of that. Here’s a picture:

This just doesn’t look…right.

It just doesn’t look right. Maybe I’m overly critical, but really? The instruction booklet says not to worry if it’s loose, but how loose is too loose? I’m going to keep going for a little while and see if things do straighten up. I hope so, because this is a very pretty emerald merino fingering yarn bought from Unfancy Free on Etsy…which is a very easy site to get myself in trouble on. If this weaving is wrong, I am going to unravel the entire thing rather than waste such a beautiful yarn.

 
But, before I do anything else, I think I’ll go look up some images of stick weaving on Google and see if I can figure out what I’m doing wrong!
